10 PSO employees to perform Haj

KARACHI: Ten non-management employees, including one woman, were chosen to perform the forthcoming Haj in a ballot at Pakistan State Oil head office on Friday, August 11, 2006.

This was the 7th Haj Ballot under the PSO Workers Welfare Trust. Mr. Jalees Ahmed Siddiqi, Managing Director & CEO chaired the ceremony. CBA President Mr. Rashael Alam, and other management and union representatives were also present.

The managing director, while greeting the fortunate employees, urged them to pray for the prosperity of the country and progress of the company while performing Haj. He wished them safe journey.

This was the first time that staff members at five other PSO locations – Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan and Faisalabad -- participated live in this interactive event through videoconferencing. The country’s largest oil marketing company last week declared a record dividend of 340% per share for the financial year ended June 30, 2006. PSO earned a profit after tax of Rs. 7.5 billion on overall sales revenue of Rs. 353 billion.
