Mock Fire / Emergency Drill at PSO House

Karachi: A mock fire/ emergency drill took place at, Pakistan State Oil head office, PSO House, on November 16, 2007. This was done to rehearse successful handling of any untoward incident on the premises.

PSO’s Emergency Response Plan, an all-hazards approach that encompasses the multitude of possible crises, was followed properly. The response time for evacuation was found to be very swift as all the employees and other people present on the premises gathered at muster point within five minutes.

The mock drill began with the sounding of alarm and was followed by evacuation of staff, visitors/contractors, etc, and head count. The fire-fighting team and the first aid team were also found alert on this occasion.

Fire drills are part of PSO’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) program which are conducted on regular basis to keep the work force updated on the line of action in any emergency event.
