PSO and PEPCO Sign Fuel Supply Agreement
PSO and Northern Power Generation Company Limited (NPGCL), a subsidiary company of the Pakistan Electric Power Company (Private) Limited (PEPCO) have signed a Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) for fulfilling Furnace Oil and HSD requirements of all the power stations of NPGCL.
Speaking on the occasion Managing Director, PEPCO, Basharat Cheema said that the long term Fuel Supply Agreement will help in establishing consistency and smoothness in the operations of both the companies. Consequently, this will also allow us to manage the demand and supply of the energy requirement of the country in the backdrop of current energy crisis.
The FSA between NPGCL and PSO will allow the later to become the exclusive supplier of Furnace Oil and HSD to all power stations of NPGCL i.e. Thermal Power Station, Muzaffargarh, Natural Gas Power Station, Piran Ghaib, Multan, Steam Power Station, Nishatabad, Faisalabad and Gas Turbine Power Station, Faisalabad
Managing Director, PSO, Irfan Qureshi said “This agreement will enable PSO to concentrate its efforts on streamlining its Supply Chain network and regularizing the balance of Import and local availability of products. Local refineries will be encouraged to enhance their production capacities, resulting in minimum reliance on imports.
