PSO and Virtual University Join Hands

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Virtual University of Pakistan have signed an agreement on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at PSO House to establish a VU PSO Campus at District Badin-Sindh.  The Virtual University is an educational and education promotional institution being operated under the supervision of Ministry of Information Technology of Pakistan.

The agreement was signed by the Managing Director, PSO, Mr Irfan Qureshi,
Mr. Agha Wasif, DCO Badin and Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb of Virtual University. According to this agreement, PSO will facilitate the university by providing its premises to establish a campus in District Badin to educate and impart training to the students and general public of the area.

Irfan Qureshi, Managing Director PSO said “being a socially conscientious company we feel that Virtual University of Pakistan has put up a commendable effort in providing extremely affordable world class education to aspiring students all over the country. PSO has extended full support to VU and we hope that it will help them in meeting their objectives more effectively”.               

At present PSO is supporting various projects in the field of education. Recently two schools were rebuilt in earthquake 2005 affected areas in association with the Heritage Foundation and few more are in pipeline in partnership with The Citizen Foundation.

Mr Agha Wasif, DCO, Badin thanked and appreciated PSO’s generous support for the project. He said that the cooperation of PSO has given us the opportunity to provide education and training in the areas where our youth don’t have enough facilities.

Mr. Agha Wasif made a special mention of Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker National Assembly who took personal interest in this regard.
