In order to meet the competitive environment, Mobile Quality Testing Units (MQTUs) are now being equipped with one of the best on-the-spot, automated facilities for lubricant testing. Starting with one MQTU at Karachi the entire fleet all over the country will be equipped for this additional service to customers.
Through this initiative of quality and quantity testing of fuels at the retail outlets and other PSO facilities, MQTU Network hopes to play vital role in improvement of the company’s image among its customers.
The lubricants are given two main critical tests -- viscosity and total base number (TBN). The equipment for determination of viscosity at 40OC, 100OC and viscosity index complies with ASTM D-7042 and apparatus for measurement of TBN provides the results, which correlates with IP-400 test method.
The results of both equipments are compared with standard laboratory results on identical samples, which have established the high level of confidence in correctness of results obtained at MQTU.
