| Mega Fire Fighting Drill at Sihala Installation |

A mega Fire Fighting Drill at PSO Sihala Installation was held on March 3, 2010.
The drill started at 1030Hrs by alarms ringing and operation at installation was stopped immediately. ARL authorities were called to stop pumping of product. Fire Brigade, Rescue and ambulance services were called in. Evacuation was carried out immediately. Tank Lorries were removed from the filling gantry, staff from the office block gathered at the gate. Accounts Officer reported at the gate and noted down the number of tank lorries going out. Security staff cleared the tank lorries from gate and kept the area near the gate clear for Fire tender and vehicles of other allied services to come in.
Staff gathered at the assembly point. Fire chief (Shift In charge) gave them the dummy Fire point as target area and advised them to act as per instructions/requirements.
The drill was called-off by the Fire chief with sounding of alarm. The staff was asked to gather at the assembly point. The civil defense representative appreciated the spirit and energetic response of the staff. Account officer carried out the head count and supervised the tank lorries coming back after the area has been cleared. Heads of participating departments were called and thanked for their participation. |
