  Fire Drill

In a display of emergency preparedness and response, PSO recently conducted an Emergency Fire Evacuation Drill mobilising its employees at PSO House. This was an unannounced drill conducted in order to test the effectiveness of emergency response plan as well as to check the response of employees. The entire building was evacuated in five minutes. Moreover fire tender and snorkel reached in time and successfully evacuated a left over employee on the 4th floor and the emergency was called off in 30 minutes.

As part of HSE department’s mission to safeguard the employees in case of any future occurrences the company has dedicated emergency wardens in each department, and they are trained to be the point of contact for employees in any emergency. As part of the exercise, employees on all floors took the stairs to reach the ground floor led by the emergency wardens.

These exercises, conducted by our Health Safety and Environment Department ensure that best emergency procedures and contingency measures are implemented for employee safety and emergency response, and this is a practical exercise on all the safety instructions that have been made available to employees.
