American Standard Test Method (ASTM) approved equipment for Color testing has been added at more than three Mobile Quality Testing Unit (MQTU) locations to determine the adulteration of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) and used oil in High Speed Diesel (HSD).

ASTM Color testing equipment is used to maintain effective control over lubrication monitoring program. This equipment may be used to gauge oil condition before any oil change. This shall help in curtailing maintenance expenses.

This equipment is also intended to help users monitor the condition of mineral lubricating oils and guard against excessive component wear, oil degradation, or contamination, thereby minimizing the potential of mechanical problems that are more likely to occur in the absence of such an oil condition monitoring program.
